The Hnaberd Village of Ararat region, turned into the festival of “Tolma”. It is already 7th year, that Armenian cooks and NGOs present the origin of Tolma and give a possibility to locals and tourists to taste its unique Armenian flavour. This year at pan-Armenian “Uduli” festival 25 booths were presented with more than 60 different types of Tolma. Tolma or Dolma is prepared with both meat and vegetables, staffed or rolled, and origins from the word “toil”, which in ancient Armenian means grape leaf. The participants did their best to surprise guests with new types of tolma, pleasing even sushi lovers and vegetarians.
